Hemp is the gift that keeps on giving. As you may know, its buds produce cannabinoids packed with a range of awesome benefits. But did you also know that cannabinoids can yield their own offspring that are equally, if not more beneficial for users? Some new CBG derivatives are making waves for doing just that!
Today, we’ll review a new article that places a closer eye on these CBG derivatives and their impact. At Arbor Vita8, it’s our mission to advance the hemp culture with the provision of quality info. You can count on us to keep you informed about the industry!
Breaking Down CBG
The article notes that authors were successful in synthesizing three derivatives from the source. They are known as “HUM-223, HUM-233 and HUM-234.” The craziest part? Not only did they adopt their parents’ traits, they produced some new ones to tout on their own.
When tested on mice, all three seemed “to possess anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.” But, “HUM-234 also prevents obesity in mice fed a high-fat diet (HFD).” This is of particular note, as obesity is often less discussed in the hemp space. Altogether, “[these derivatives] have the potential… as novel drug candidates for [treating inflammation].”

CBG is a strong alternative to the leading treatment methods for inflammation. Most people are prescribed “NSAIDs and steroids,” among other similar fare. By now, it’s been well reported the toll these pharmaceuticals take on the human body. We also share in the authors’ desire for more comprehensive research and action!
