Today we’re back with another awesome video from our good friend Riley Dee. For any newcomers, Riley is absolutely crushing it as a cannabis influencer. Her Tik Tok page is full of valuable information about cannabis. She adds new videos every week detailing a new aspect on the subject.
Today’s clip takes another look at Delta 8. If you haven’t already, check out the clip and blog on D8’s chemical make up here. Riley does an amazing job distinguishing between D8 and D9 THC. This time, though, we’re looking at Delta 8 pharmacology. Read on for more!
Where to find D8
In our previous post, we went into a bit of detail regarding the legality of Delta 8 THC. To recap, this variant of THC is legal. This comes following the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill. Hemp and many of its extensions were legalized after this. THC, however, was not so lucky. Except, of course, when discussing D8 THC. This is due in part to its lessened psycho-activity.
That’s not to say it’s completely out of the woods. Much of the concern regarding D8 in a legal capacity comes from how it’s made. Synthetic D8 is completely off the table as it currently stands. Authentic D8, however, is available now where most hemp products can be purchased.
A Word On Cannabis Claims
Before we go any further, it is imperative that we state some hard facts. The truth is, there is not very much hard data out there when it comes to cannabis. And that can have some big implications for us as distributors of this kind of information.
Now, there are some studies that have yielded empirical data on the subject. But, there isn’t nearly enough for us to speak unequivocally on cannabis. This is especially the case when it comes to its medicinal properties. To state clearly, Arbor Vita8 makes no medicinal claims when it comes to cannabis.
Delta 8 Pharmacology
Delta 8 “makes you feel less high,” as Riley puts it. This is because of the “reduced binding affinity at the CB1 receptor”. But a lesser high doesn’t mean a lesser impact!
Some users have reported a positive impact after consumption. Some say it did wonders for their anxiety. Others reported its effectiveness after dealing with nausea. And it doesn’t stop there! Some even reported it to have a positive effect on their appetite. As Riley suggests, small amounts may be good for multiple things!

Riley Dee:
Hi, let’s talk about the pharmacology of Delta-8-THC. I’m going to preface this with saying, just like many other subjects in cannabis research, there is not a ton of data on this.
Delta-8 compared to Delta-9 has shown to have less psychotropic effects, so it makes you feel less high. This is due to the reduced binding affinity at the CB1 receptor, as you can see on this table. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have any medicinal benefits. You can actually have a lot of benefits from having reduced activity. Similar to Delta-9-THC, Delta-8-THC has also been shown to be anxiety-relieving, anti-emetic, so it helps with vomiting, and also an appetite stimulant.
Now say, for instance, that you have to go to work, but you feel sick, like you’re going to vomit, you have really bad anxiety, or you have trouble eating. Maybe taking small amounts of Delta-8-THC are going to relieve those symptoms, but not make you feel super high at work. If you have tried Delta-8-THC, please let me know in the comments how it made you feel.
