Our seasoned experts deliver the most cost-effective and efficient hemp extraction available. See how our advanced facilities – designed and built by Entexs – and highly qualified staff help farmers manage high-volume extractions while producing the highest quality cannabinoid oil and distillates for our partners and manufacturers.
Hemp extraction is the process of separating the naturally occurring cannabinoids in the hemp plant (primarily CBD and CBG) from the physical plant matter.
The initial extraction process provides crude CBD or CBG oil. Typically, this oil is then further refined through a process called “winterization,” which removes any chlorophyll, chemical solvents, and plant waxes and fats in order to produce clean hemp oil with up to 99% CBD, minor cannabinoids, and terpenes.
While this is the typical process for many extractors, Arbor Vita8’s advanced extraction process maintains ultra low solvent temperatures, bypassing the need for “winterization.”
Our fully automated, food grade, no-touch process keeps any impurities out of the equation and allows us to handle a lot more volume than competing processors. Our cutting-edge facilities can extract up to 5,000 pounds of dried biomass per day. We also have the capability to refine crude oil into full-spectrum and broad-spectrum distillates, or take “hot” distillate from other producers and remediate it into T-Free distillate.
There are several viable methods for hemp extraction, including CO2, ethanol, and cold water processes.
Currently, Arbor Vita8 utilizes an ethanol extraction system from Entexs. Our research has proven that ethanol extraction is the cleanest and most cost-efficient process on the market. Our high-tech approach recycles approximately 85% of the ethanol required for this process, making it both cost-effective and environmentally friendly. In comparison to other processing techniques, such as CO2, wet and butane, ethanol is the most cost-effective, safe, and it creates high-quality products while producing high yields.
With this method, hemp flowers and biomass are placed in the extractor and ethanol saturates the plant matter, dissolving the plant waxes and extracting the cannabinoids. This is followed by a final evaporation step, which leaves behind the concentrated cannabinoids as an oil.
Beyond crude oil, Arbor Vita8 also helps our partners produce various types of distillate from their hemp crop, including full-spectrum distillate and broad-spectrum, T-Free distillate. So what’s the difference?
Full-spectrum CBD distillate (sometimes called “whole plant CBD”) contains all the cannabinoids and various natural compounds found in hemp. This includes terpenes and amino acids. Additionally, full-spectrum distillate contains trace amounts of THC.
Broad-spectrum distillate takes the refining process a step further and removes the trace amounts of THC found in full-spectrum distillate. This is achieved through a special process called liquid chromatography, which eliminates the THC at low temperatures while preserving other cannabinoids, terpenes, and amino acids.
Your company’s specific business objectives, the size and quality of your crop, and external factors like market volatility will all dictate our approach to the pricing of our processing services.
Contact us today so that we can work with you to match our services and pricing to your specific needs.
For those who already have an outlet to sell their oil, your oil or distillate is returned as soon as we receive payment from you for our services. We can also help farmers sell their extracted product through our network for a pre-negotiated brokerage fee.
Another option we offer our toll split partners, is to divide the post-extraction oil and distillate between both parties. Prices and split percentages will vary depending on the quality of your hemp samples as well as the time needed in our facilities for extraction.
At Arbor Vita8, we’re committed to building long-term, seed-to-sale partnerships with farmers and manufacturers. Part of that commitment is ensuring that we provide the highest quality, cleanest, and safest extractions possible.
To that end, we’ve invested our time, money, and effort to create the preeminent extraction facility in the Southeast. Our extractor was built by certified engineers at Entexs to meet or exceed applicable industry standards, like ASME and NFPA. With our fully automated, high-tech process, we can effectively offer the most competitive prices and results. Few, if any, are able to match extraction yields of up to 5,000 pounds of dried biomass per day. Whether you’re a farmer – or a manufacturer with excess biomass that needs to beat the processing bottleneck – we can help. We also have the capability to separate compounds effectively and eliminate contaminants. Our efficient removal process requires extensive washing and ensures your end product has zero parts per million of any impurities or solvents, including ethanol.
